Brewed to celebrate their 7th birthday and their first year of production at the Croydon site, The Imperial Baltic Porter reaffirms Anspach & Hobday's commitment to the histories and traditions of Porter brewing.
Developed by brewers in the Baltic states when trying to emulate the exported Porters of the UK, bottom fermenting Lager yeast and cold fermentations were used in place of warm, Ale fermentations. Aromas of chocolate and roasted coffee dominate the nose, along with notes of herbs & spice. The palate is smooth and chocolatey, with a touch of sweetness balanced by a gentle bitterness.
