Tasting Notes: The Abbeydale Voyager #3 IPA

Abbeydale Voyager #3 IPA

This week we feature a relatively new release from the amazing Abbeydale Brewery in nearby Sheffield comes their Voyager IPA at 5.6%. Following the release of Abbeydale Heathen American Pale Ale in Cans, this beer had a lot to live up to!

De-canning to the glass gives a superb dank aroma of citrus fruits, melon and peach. The pour is deliciously murky, yet inviting, being bright orange in appearance with a compact punchy carbonation. Head generation and retention is also pretty decent, with plenty of hop character featuring Citra, Summer and Vic Secret hops, giving an excellent tropical fruity aftertaste. Bitterness takes a seat in this excellent India Pale Ale, concentrating on the wonderful hop flavours present.

We look forward to see what exciting new beers this local South Yorkshire Brewery releases in the coming months!
